The Uganda Premier League resumed on Tuesday with a thrilling encounter between Police FC and KCCA FC at the Kira Road arena, following a brief hiatus for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

The Cops, under the guidance of Matia Lule, picked up where they left off, showcasing their impressive form with a 2-0 victory over the table-topping Kasasiro Boys.

In a tightly contested match, Police FC’s resurgence began six minutes into the second half when Brian James Obedi capitalized on a Denis Kalanzi header, firing a strike from distance to put the hosts ahead.

The lead was doubled two minutes after the hour mark, courtesy of Congolese forward Bedia Djuma Ikamba, who all but sealed the win for the Cops.

Despite KCCA’s late surge, the Police FC defense held firm, securing a crucial 2-0 win.

This victory propels Police FC to second place on 24 points, 3 behind Vipers, who won 1-0 over Mbarara City later.

KCCA FC, dropped to the second place on the table with 26 points.

The win marks a strong statement from Police FC, who have been in excellent form under Matia Lule’s stewardship.

As the league resumes, the Cops will look to build on this momentum, while KCCA FC will aim to bounce back from this setback and reclaim their position at the summit.
