Vipers SC have this Sunday evening, the 15th September lost hands down 3-1 to NEC FC at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo during their 2024/25 StarTimes Uganda Premier League opener.

New recruit Muzamir Mutyaba and former Vipers SC stars  Rwothomio Cromwell and Paul Mucureezi were on target for the Hussein Mbalangu’s coached NEC FC.

Attacking midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba strike sent NEC into an early 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the game.

16 minutes later, Vipers SC  levelled matters through defender Mulondo’s header in the 26th minute from a corner kick.

However, Mulondo’s goal could only turn into a consolation as former Vipers SC forward Rwothomio Cromwell scored to restored NEC’s lead with a tap in from a perfect Rashid Okocha’s cross in the 58th minute of play.

Another former Vipers player Mucureezi sealed the 3-1 win with a third goal for NEC FC at the mark of an hour.
