The convincing victory for Kitara was on road at the Bombo Military Grounds on Saturday 3rd February.

After a goalless first stanza, Omedi sent visitors into a 58th minute lead with a header.

UPDF defender Samson Kasozi failure to clear Arthur Kiggundu’s long ball gave Omedi chance to head home his first goal on the evening .

The forward doubled the lead with a hard strike from Frank Zaga Tumwesigye’s explicit assist in the 67th minute to make 2-0 for visitors.

Omedi completed his hat-trick with another header, nodding ball above UPDF keeper Jimmy Okidi in the 89th minute as he took his tally to eight (8) goals this season.

This became the third hat-trick of the season after Ghanaian Asiwome Fumador of Vipers SC and Nelson Senkatuuka (Soltilo Bright Stars) earlier on in the first round.

The win help Kitara to close the gap at the summit moving them to the second position on 32 points, just two behind leaders BUL FC who drew goalless with KCCA under floodlights in Lugogo on Friday evening.

UPDF remains winless in their last nine league games.
They (UPDF) are second from bottom on the table with nine points.

In their next engagements, Kitara will host on form SC. Villa on Friday 9th while UPDF will be on road to Metha Stadium in Lugazi to face URA FC on Tuesday 6th February.
