City tycoon Omar Mandela is set to be declared as SC Villa president after the club Electoral committee announced him unopposed ahead of elections this November.

The declaration was made by SC Villa EC chairman Isaac Walukagga after the completion of the nomination process that saw one aspirant Farouq Mewya fail to meet the required requirements.

“We have today closed our nominations for candidates to contest for the Club’s Presidency and Executive positions.”

“We closed nominations today and only Hajji Omar Ahmed had complied with the electoral requirements. Mr. Farouq Mewya returned incomplete nomination forms.”

“For this reason, we only have one individual who has satisfied the requirements to participate in the club’s elections,” the statement from SC Villa reads.

Mandela previously served at Villa as the chairman Administration and Treasurer until 2004.

He will become the first SC Villa president since 2018 when Eng. Ben Misagga stepped down from the position.
