SC Villa midfielder Ismail Muguluusi has started his journey to recovery after undergoing a successful knee surgery in Greece.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations came out to the rescue of a prodigious SC Villa and Uganda Hippos midfielder.

Mugulusi had a torn lateral meniscus anterior horn that requires an urgent operation.

He needed $7000 (Shs25m) to have a knee operation and FUFA met all the travel and medical bills for the talented midfielder.

Mugulusi had earlier tried to have a surgery in Kenya but they asked for $14000 and also had a chance to have it for free at Crutone Hospital in Italy but failed to get a visa.

He is a graduate of the Uganda National U-17 team (Cubs), Jinja SSS and Busoga United. He was also instrumental for the Uganda Hippos team as they finished runners up at the U-20 African championship that was staged in Mauritania.
