Masaza Cup: Perfect start for Buddu, Kyaggwe, Ssingo

William Kyeswa’s Kyaggwe and Simon Peter Mugerwa’s Buddu, Ssingo and Buwekula won their openers at the ongoing 2023 Masaza Cup tournament.

 

Kyaggwe produced the biggest win of the day by defeating Buluuli 4-1 at Bishop’s grounds in Mukono.

Andrew Odongo, Mubaraka Mitala scored each for Kyaggwe. The other two goals were scored by Yusuf Mukwana who scored a brace (both from the spot) to guide Kyaggwe to maximum points.

Asaph Ssegujja scored the consolation for visiting Buluuli.

 

Last year’s finalists Buddu overcame a resilient 2006 champions Kkooki in a 2-0 win.

Puis Ssebulime and Dickson Kigoye scored a goal each in the second to earn Buddu a 2-0 victory against Kooki at Masaka Recreation grounds.

Ssingo also defeated Bugerere 2-0 at Ssaza grounds in Mityana thanks  to Yasin Muwonge and Emmanuel Ajo for the goals.

 

Bulemeezi and Butambala played to a one all draw at Kosovo grounds in Luweero in a game that was played behind closed doors.

Abdul Kalanzi and Angua Mansoor scored for Butambala and Bulemeezi respectively.

Kyaddondo lost 1-0 to Buwekula at Homesdarllen Pimary School in Gayaza.

Buwekula’s goal was scored by Ronald Kaaye.
