Joshua Lubwama Leti was the hero as Buganda Province registered a slim 1-0 victory against Bunyoro Province at Kavumba Recreation Center in Wakiso.

Leti headed past Jamil Kiyimba in the 44th minute off George Kaddu’s throw in handing the inaugural tournament winners victory.

Buganda that are in the same group with Bunyoro and Tooro were playing their first game while Bunyoro had already played two games.

Lubwama’s goal saw him being named man of the match.

Next Sunday on 23rd Bunyoro will host Tooro at Kigaya grounds in Hoima.

Buganda will also visit Tooro in their next match on 30th July at Buhinga grounds in Fort Portal.

The other game of the day was between Bugisu and Busoga. It ended in a goalless draw in Mbale at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

Buganda, Acholi and West Nile are the three Provinces that have ever won this championship.
