A dramatic 1-1 draw unfolded on a wet Saturday morning at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, as St. Noa GFC and league leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC shared the spoils in an entertaining encounter.

In a match defined by physicality and intensity, both teams missed a host of chances, but it was Kawempe Muslim who struck first.

Goal poacher Latifah Nakasi capitalized on a well-weighted through ball from Docus Kisakye, clinically finishing inside the box to give the visitors the lead in the first half.

As the rain began to pour at the start of the second stanza, the pitch quickly became a soggy battleground, but the conditions didn’t dampen the spirits of the players.

In the dying moments of the match, St. Noa GFC captain Barbara Anomo found the back of the net in the 92nd minute, securing a vital equalizer and ensuring her side took home a point.

Despite the draw, Kawempe Muslim remain firmly atop the table with 29 points, while St. Noa GFC move to 14 points, temporarily sitting in 7th position.

St. Noa GFC’s goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya produced a standout performance, with crucial saves to deny Kawempe’s Agnes Nabukenya on two occasions and keeping Latifah Nakasi at bay to keep her side in the game.

Elsewhere, Uganda Martyrs High School WFC maintained their perfect record, securing a 2–0 victory over Lady Doves FC at St. Gerald’s Ground.

Gloria Namugerwa and Kiiza Moreen found the net for the winning side.

In other fixtures, Olila WFC and She Makerere played out a draw, as did Amus College WFC and She Maroons, with both matches finishing goalless.

Looking ahead, the league will resume tomorrow with defending champions Kampala Queens facing Rines SS WFC, while She Corporate will take on Asubo Ladies FC in another exciting round of fixtures.
