Ugandan goalkeeper Simon Tamale has joined Rwandan side Rayon Sport.

Tamale joins from UPL side Maroons FC and has signed a contract of one year

He was one of the most outstanding players in the 2022/23 UPL season, his heroic saves helped Maroons FC sixth with 41 points.

Tamale is also among the nominees for the Pilsner player of the season alongside SC Villa’s Charles Bbale and Vipers SC captain Milton Kariisa

He is also competing with Nafian Alionzi of URA FC and Hassan Matovu of Soltilo Bright Stars on the Pilsner goalkeeper of the season.

At the new club he joins fellow Ugandans Musa Esenu and Joakim Ojera.

Rayon Sports FV are Rwanda’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, they defeated APR 1-0 in the Peace Cup final.

PoliceFC and Soltilo Bright Stars are the other Uganda clubs Tamale has played for in the past.
