Under Morley Byekwaso, SC Villa have suffered their second loss in a row out of two attempts. Both competitive defeats have come against the Uganda Cranes Select team in the ongoing FUFA Super 8 tournament.

Uganda Cranes Select Team have this evening won 1-0 against the Jogoos at Philip Omond Stadium in Lugogo to advance to the FUFA Super 8 semi-finals.

Defender Samuel Kato’s 53rd minute header was enough for Cranes Select team to win 1-0.

Following the first leg 2-1 score, the Select team have advanced to semi-finals with a 3-1 aggregate win.

In the first leg, Isaac Owgang and Godfrey Ssekibengo scored for the Select side as they took a 2-1 quarter-final advantage over SC Villa. Arnold Odong scored the only goal for Villa.

The Uganda Cranes Select Team will face Vipers SC in the semi-finals on Saturday, the 10th August.

Vipers SC advanced to the semi-finals yesterday on away goals rule advantage after their 1-1 draw with NEC in the return leg of the fixture.

Meanwhile defending champions BUL eased past  Maroons FC with a 3-0 comfortable win.

New signing Isaac Wagoina scored a brace coming in the 30th and 53rd minutes and a goal  from Dickson Mataama’s 33rd  minute strike.

BUL FC have progressed on a 4-1 aggregate win following their first leg 1-1 draw.

They will now face Kitara, who defeated KCCA 4-3 on aggregate, in the semi-finals on Sunday, August 11th, at 8 pm.
