The 2025 USSSA Ball Games II U-16 Girls football championship has officially kicked off in Tororo, with exciting matches played on the first day.

Last year’s runners-up, Kawempe Muslim SS, started their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Wampeewo Ntake at Manjaasi Playground.

Kawempe Muslim SS Gains Momentum

Kevin Nanyunja netted twice for Kawempe Muslim SS, unlocking the deadlock with a clinical finish in the second half.

Despite a number of scoring opportunities squandered by Belinda Hope Nabawanuka and Shadia Nabirye, Kawempe’s victory marked a confident start to their campaign.

Other Fixtures

In other fixtures, defending champions Boni Consilii shared spoils with Rines SS in a goalless draw.

The action will continue on Saturday, followed by the opening ceremony scheduled to be held at King’s George Stadium.

Boys Football U16 Results

In the boys’ football U16 category, Bukomansimbi SS and Bukedea Comprehensive School played to a barren stalemate, while Bushenyi and Seroma Christian High School settled for a point each following a 1-1 draw.

Masaka Citizen lost 1-0 to Busoga College Mwiri.
