Star studded Kampala Queens WFC and Wakiso Hill have played for a dull 1-all draw in the 2024/25 Finance Trust Bank Women Super League season opener.

The game was held under the afternoon bright sun rays on Friday , the 27th September 2024 at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The game was a curtain raising event to a high profile StarTimes Uganda Premier League tie between hosts KCCA and Kitara FC.

The best chances of the first half went Kampala Queens’ way but captain Shamirah Nalugya was denied by the woodwork in the fifth minute and goalkeeper Halima Kasuubo in the 15th minute from a free-kick.

The hosts broke the deadlock at the hour mark through their new signing Shamusha Najjuma. The goal became his very first since joining from Uganda Martyrs Women Football Club.

But the Queens of Soccer’s hearts were broken at the death mark when Judith Mawuwa equalized from a well taken free-kick.

In the last three meetings, the Queens of Soccer remain dominant with two wins and a draw.

Kampala Queens will return to action away to She Corporate FC in Nakawa on Saturday, October 5 while Wakiso Hill will host champions Kawempe Muslim WFC on Sunday.

Matchday one will continue with three fixtures tomorrow headlined by champions Kawempe at home against Rines SS WFC.

In the other games, Lady Doves will host FC Tooro Queens in Masindi whilst Amus College will visit Olila HS WFC at Olila Grounds.
