The highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup has just reached a significant milestone with the launch of the adidas TRIONDA, the Official Match Ball of the competition. TRIONDA, meaning “three waves” in Spanish, celebrates the unity of three host countries – Canada, Mexico, and the United States – in a historic first-ever joint hosting arrangement.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised TRIONDA as a symbol of unity and anticipation, saying, “The Official Match Ball for the FIFA World Cup 26 is here and it’s a beauty!”

The ball’s vibrant design features a red, green, and blue color scheme paying homage to the three host countries.

The four-panel construction with fluid geometry replicates the waves referenced in the ball’s name, forming a triangle at the center to represent the unity of the host nations.

TRIONDA boasts several key performance innovations, including:

Deep Seams: The four-panel construction incorporates intentionally deep seams, creating a surface that produces optimal in-flight stability.

Embossed Icons: The icons on the ball’s surface provide elevated grip when striking or dribbling in wet or humid conditions.

Connected Ball Technology: A state-of-the-art 500Hz motion sensor chip delivers insight into every element of the ball’s movement, enhancing match officials’ decision-making.

Iconic Design Elements

The ball features iconic design elements representing each host country, including :

Canada: A maple leaf

Mexico: An eagle

United States: A star

Gold Embellishments: Paying tribute to the FIFA World Cup Trophy

TRIONDA’s arrival marks another step in the countdown to the 23rd edition of the global extravaganza, with the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 26 set to take place in Washington DC on December 5, 2025.
