Defending Champions Park FC humble Edgars to seal Futsal Uganda Cup quarter-final slot

Holders Park FC started their Futsal Uganda Cup title defence with an emphatic 5-2 win over Edgars Youth Programme.

A masterpiece of show was held at Old Kampala Futsal Arena on Friday, the 18th October 2024.

Captain Shafiq Mulangira was on target twice with Joshua Aziku, Abasi Junior Muluya, and Frank Nsereko with a goal each as Park FC stormed quarter-finals.

On other side Bob Atendele and Eze Kombi grabbed consolation goals for Edgars Youth Programme.

On the same night Kisenyi FC became the most sparkling side at the round of 16 after putting 9-0 past Nansana Aska academy.

Ilyas Alalous Omran netted five goals, while Marvin Ategeka, Shafiq Dirir, Ivan Alioni, and new comer Bashir Warid registered a goal to their names.

Meanwhile Fiyore SC, and First Touch Sports Lubaga Grameen youth shocked Kusugu to assure their slots in the 2024/25 Futsal Uganda Cup quarterfinals.

After passing through preliminary rounds, Debutants Fiyore SC continued with their impressive run defeating Lubaga Grameen Youth 8-2.

Abdiwali Ali fired the new side with four goals as Abdihamid Ahmed, Abdiwali Halane, Awale Abshir, and Fiyore Ahmed scored once each.

For Grameen Youth’s Eric Buyondo and Sulaiman Yakubu scored consolations for Grameen Youth.

Meanwhile, First Touch Sports managed  to overcome Kisugu FC in a  4-2 win to advance to quarter-finals.

Shukran Kakande netted twice to put Kisugu in lead on two occasions however, First Touch would immediately reaction through Denis Muwaga and Denis Kaweesa.

After the had fight in the first half, Kaweesa managed to put his side in the lead for the first at the early stage of the second half and later he completed a hat trick as Kusugu got helpless in the mature stages of the game.

The last batch of the round of 16 games shall come on 25 October 2024 at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
