Ethiopia overturned a two-goal deficit to defeat Uganda 3-2 to emerge the champions of the Cecafa Women’s U20 Championship in the game played at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Tuesday evening.

Hadijah Nandago and Fauzia Najjemba scored for Uganda in the 26th and 40th minutes respectively but Rediet Assrasahang, Ariet Odong and Turist Lema’s second half strikes ensured that Ethiopia emerge the champions with a fantastic comeback.

Nandago gave Uganda the lead in the 26th minute following Zaina Nandede’s donkey work who found Nandago well stationed to tap home.

In the 40th minute, captain Fauzia Najjemba scored direct from a free kick to double Uganda’s lead.

Assrasahang then pulled one back for Ethiopia to make it 2-1 before equalising through Odong in the 78th minute.

Ethiopia went on to score the third and winning goal through Lema in the 82nd minute of the game.
