Buganda and Nabagereka Schools tournaments have today Friday, 8th March 2024 got underway.

The official opening ceremony was held at Kawanda Secondary School in Wakiso City with a boys football game between the host Kawanda SS and Janan School.

The mouthwatering tie ended in a goalless draw on a wet evening.

In the Primary boys football category, Kampala Grammar registered a slim 1-0 win over Muteesa I Primary School (Zirobwe).

Muzamiru Mutyaba Kavule, a brother to former Victoria University SC and KCCA FC midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba scored the only goal as Grammar got off the mark.

In the Netball category, host Kawanda SS emerged victors in over St. Matia Mulumba in a one sided tie.

Kawanda Secondary School won 29-08 to register a perfect start before their huge crowd.

This year’s edition has registered the greatest turn (41 Schools), 83 teams and over 1450 participants since 2012.

Six sports disciplines including football, basketball, handball, Volleyball, Woodball and Netball are on this edition’s menu card.

Buganda minister for Youth, Sports and Arts Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga in company with Buganda Schools Sports Committee Chairperson Gerald Katamba and his committee members graced the opener.

The games will run till Saturday, 16th March. Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga together with other Kingdom dignitaries will grace the finals at Kawanda.
