Ambrose Kigozi scored a hat trick to as Uganda National Beach soccer team “Sand Cranes” thumped Mauritius 9-2 to help Uganda maintain a 100% win streak at the ongoing COSAFA championship in Beach Arena in Durban, South Africa.

Kigozi’s hat trick this evening took his goal tally to five at the tournament after his brace against neighbors Tanzania in the opener.

The on form Kigozi was also named man of the match for the second time.

Ashraf Apuuli (brace), Isma Kawawulo, Brian Nkuubi, Baker Lukooya and Joshua Lubwama scored the other goals to help Uganda storm semi-final stage.

The sends Uganda to the semi-finals with one more group game against Egypt on Wednesday.

Uganda is using the tournament as part of preparations for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations that will take place on 21st to 30th October in Maputo, Mozambique.

To qualify for the African pinnacle Beach Soccer tournament, the Sand Cranes eliminated Comoros by a 9-5 aggregate score after two legs.
