Airtel Masaza Cup: Paul Nkata refutes being sacked at Bulemeezi

Following his absence during their opener against neighbors Buluuli, rumors of Bulemeezi head coach Paul Nkata being sacked circulated amidst mixed reactions from fans.

Godfrey Wasswa, an assistant to Nkata was in charge as holders Bulemeezi lost 1-0 to Buluuli.

The head coach Nkata who is currently steering Buhimba to face NTODA in the Western regional play offs confirmed to this website that the claims of him being sacked are not true.

“I’m not sacked at Bulemeezi as per rumors. We agreed with the Ssaza committee to avail me space to finish a journey with Buhimba in their pursuit for Big League promotion.

By Friday 5th I will be fully settled at Bulemeezi”. Said Nkata during an interview.

Nkata alongside was unveiled with Godfrey Wasswa, Ali Kiggundu and Maxwell Okello as his assistants on 22nd May 2024. Martin Elungat was named the Goalkeeping coach

The 2012, 2019 and 2023 champions lost 1-0 in the opening game against 2011 champions Buluuli.

Robert Ssewanyana scored the all important goal Buluuli stunned rival neighbors Bulemeezi 1-0 in the 2024 Airtel Masaza Cup opener.

The hugely attended tie was held at Kosovo Grounds in Kasana Luweero on Saturday, the 22nd June 2024.

Masaza Cup action will continue next weekend  29th June 2024. Buvuma will take on Mawokota, and Butambala will play Buddu at Kibibi.
