The Uganda U20 boys’ football national team, the Uganda Hippos, will battle Burundi this afternoon for the bronze medal after their semi-final exit at the ongoing AFCON Qualifiers in Tanzania.

The game will be played at the KMC Stadium in Tanzania, with the two teams, eliminated in the semifinals, vying for the bronze.

After missing out on the AFCON U20 Zonal Qualifier final and a spot in the final tournament, Uganda will have a chance to return home with bronze if they beat Burundi.

The two teams previously met in the group stages, where Uganda stunned Burundi 4-1, and they aim to replicate that performance.

Later in the day, finalists Kenya and Tanzania will face off to decide the champion.

Note that Kenya and Tanzania have already qualified for the final tournament, to be hosted in Cameroon in January 2025.
