FUFA Big League: Kitara FC are 2022/23 champions
Kitara FC were crowned champions of the FUFA Big League 2022/23 season after their 1-0 victory against Kaaro Karungi at Kigaya grounds in Hoima. Kitara FC were crowned champions of the FUFA Big League 2022/23 season after their 1-0 victory against Kaaro Karungi at Kigaya grounds in Hoima.

Paul Mucurezi scored the sole goal for Sam Ssimbwa’s coached side that saw them finish the season with 61 points one above second placed Mbarara City.

Mbarara City also completed the season with a 3-0 victory against Northern Gateway

Ibrahim Tembo and a brace from Henry Kitegenyi were the goal scorers for the Ankole Lions.

NEC also got promoted to the Uganda Premier League upon defeating 4-1 Kataka FC at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

Captain Marvin Kavuma Tonny Kiberu and a brace from Julius Walugembe helped NEC FC earn promotion in their debut Big League season.

Denis Omedi of Booma FC won the golden Boot having scored 22 goals.

Henry Kitegenyi was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP),he also finished the season with 22 goals.

Kitara FC’s goalkeeper Yawe Farouk was voted best goalkeeper of the season
