St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana have reached football final at the ongoing Fresh Dairy Secondary Schools Games in Mbarara.

The defending champions beat Wakiso district rivals Rines High School by 2-0 in the Semi-final to earn a third consecutive national final.

Rebecca Nyakake and goal poacher Sylvia Kabene scored a goal each to sail the Zana based side to this year’s final.

They will face Amus College-Bukedea who eliminated Mukono Parents by 4-2 in penalties after a goalless normal time draw.

Amus College defied all odds to beat Kawempe Muslim Secondary School by 10-9 after penalties in the quarter-final. The normal time ended in a 1-all draw.

Counterparts St. Noa beat Sacred Hearts SS by 2-0 at the same same stage.

This becomes St. Noa’s third national final in row. They lost the their first ever final to all time champions Kawempe Muslim by 5-4 after penalties following a goalless normal time draw in the 2019 edition held at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

In 2022, St. Noa under tactician Jimmy Mukubya beat Kawempe Muslim by 1-0 in Gulu to win their first ever national trophy.

Burundian student Erycca Kanamunyeza scored the all important goal of the game.

They are also the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) football reigning champions.

They beat Kenyan side Wiyeta by 2-1 in the final. Kabene Sylvia and Erica Kanyamuneza scored St.Noa’s two goals in the final.
