After exiting from the Caf Champions League, Vipers shift attention to title defence as they visit Maroons at Luzira on Wednesday.

The Venoms haven’t been in league action since the goalless draw with Wakiso Giants and are currently 4th on the table with 28 points, twelve behind leaders Villa although they have four games in hand on the Jogoos.

In Maroons, they take on an inspired side in good form with just no defeat since the resumption of the league.

In that run, KCCA were held at home which sends a signal to the champions not to expect a walk in the park.

They will miss a couple of players in Yunus Sentamu, Murushid Jjuuko, Livingstone Mulondo and Marvin Youngman but are fortunate to have skipper Milton Karisa back after an injury lay off.

It will be the first league game for Isabirye in the league and one he needs to win if he is to guide the side to their first ever title defence.

In the reverse fixture, Milton Karisa and Sentamu brace decided the encounter and Vipers are yet to lose to Maroons in the recent nine league meetings dropping points only twice.
