KCCA sailed through to the Quarter Finals of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup following a 2-1 over Mbarara City today Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Mato Rogers and Kakonde Tshisungu Simon netted in either half to grant the Kasasiro Boys passage through to the last eight while Kitegenyi Henry scored the only goal of the day for the Ankole Lions.

Mato opened the day’s account with an instinctive left-footed effort in the 2″, before Kitegenyi equalized in the 37″.

In the 65″ minute, Kankonde linked superbly with Allan Okello before the former brilliantly slotted in the second, which was also the evening’s winner.

KCCA have now kept their dream of a domestic double alive, as they also lead the proceedings in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
