He joins the Hippos left-full back Ibrahim Juma who also trades his brand at the same club.

He (Kayondo) was unveiled today Monday the 27th March and he will be at the club for two seasons with an option of renewal.

He has previously featured for Real Monarch in USA on loan from his parent club MFK Vyskoy of Czech Republic

The athletic left back was part of the historical Hippos side that reached finals of the U-20 AFCON tournament in Mauritania.

The Hippos lost 2-0 to eventual winners Ghana. However, Kayondo was named in the best XI of the tournament alongside teammate Derrick Kakooza who was the top scorer.

Hailing from Kalungu district in the greater Masaka region, Kayondo announced himself to the Ugandan football fraternity during his days at St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School, Kitende.

He later joined to the Vipers SC Junior side, featuring in the FUFA Juniors league from where he was promoted to the senior club.
