FUFA DRUM: West Nile are third edition champions

Rashid Toha’s second half free kick has inspired West Nile to their maiden #FUFADrum title.

West Nile Province emerge champions on a 3-2 aggregate score despite their 2-1 defeat to Lango Province at Aki Bua Stadium, Lira this evening.

Toha scored from a free kick in the 46th minute. He was also on the score sheet in the first leg as West Nile defeated Lango 2-0 at Greenlight Stadium.

Dickens Okwir and Joackim Ojera earlier scored in the 11th and 38th minutes respectively to give Lango a first half 2-0 lead that brought matters to level terms.

At the end of the final whistle West Nile was leading 3-2 on aggregate hence crowned champions of the third edition of the FUFA Drum tournament.

West Nile join Buganda Province and Acholi Province that previously won it in 2018 and 2019

Lango’s Denis Omedi was named MVP, Allan Okello emerged the top scorer while Nafian Alionzi was named the best goalkeeper and Tooro Province’s Fred Muhumuza was named best coach of the tournament.

Each individual winners receives one million Uganda Shillings.

Best goalkeeper– Nafian Alionzi
Fair play team- Tooro Province
Best fan-All School Boys- Lango

Best coach – Fred Muhumuza of Tooro Province.
