Wakiso Giants’ hunt for the first season points in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League resumes on Tuesday when they visit Maroons at Luzira.

In their first game, the Purple Sharks lost 3-2 to KCCA and they will be motivated against a side yet to lose a game this season.

Maroons have won and drawn in their two games so far and conceded no goal.

Ibrahim Kasule, who opened our season goal account at Lugogo, is aware of the threat the league returning side pose but believe three points is a possibility.

“The defeat against KCCA is a big motivation for us to try get our first win,” he said.

“Maroons have started well collecting four points and scoring five goals an indication they are not easy and needs respect. But we know the task is to go there, defend well and score goals to win the game and we are optimistic.

“We have had enough time to prepare and we are set and ready to fight for a win.”

Joshua Lubwama and Samson Kiirya who missed the first game while away with the Sand Cranes are back and available for selection for Wakiso Giants.

Tom Masiko is ruled out due as he has personal issues while Titus Ssematimba is a doubt after suffering a knock in the opening game.

Maroons have started the season on a good note and will be desperate to continue in similar fashion.

Maroons are also boosted by the return of midfielders Samson Kigozi and Brian Nkuubi who missed the previous games due to malaria and national duty respectively.

There have been two previous meetings in the league. Wakiso Giants won one and drawn the other.
