UPL: KCCA FC register a hard fought win against Wakiso Giants at Lugogo

KCCA FC kicked off the new season with a hard-fought 3-2 win against Wakiso Giants in the game played at MTN Omondi Stadium.

Ashraf Mugume scored a brace while Geofrey Wasswa scored another goal for KCCA FC on Saturday evening.

Wakiso’s goals were scored by Ibrahim Kasule and Tom Masiko.

Mugume riffled the ball in the back of the net from close quarters in the 51st minute following an assist from Moses Waiswa.

Wasswa made it 2-0 in the 66th minute when he nodded in from close quarters to double the lead after a fantastic corner kick from Saidi Mayanja.

Kasule reduced the deficit for Wakiso Giants in the 82nd minute after good inter play with Moses Aliro.

Mugume made it 3-1 for KCCA FC after a perfect strike with an assis from Usama Arafat before Masiko scored from a penalty in the 87th minute to make it 3-2.

Elsewhere, Express FC played to a one-all draw with UPDF FC. Allan Kayiwa scored for Express while Rashid Faridi scored for UPDF FC.

URA FC and Onduparaka FC played to a goalless draw while Maroons FC edged Busoga United with a 5-0 victory.

Isaac Mpagi, Fred Amaku (2), Solomon Walusimbi and Noel Nasasira scored for Maroons FC.
