Wakiso Giants head coach Alex Gitta has attributed his side’s 1-0 loss against against Soltilo Bright Stars to poor officiation.

The Purple Sharks were beaten 1-0 at Kavumba on Wednesday in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter courtesy of Joshua Lubwama’s own goal in the first half.

However, according to Gitta, Wakiso’s loss came as a result of poor officiation citing Frank Ssebuufu’s goal that was ruled out due to offside.

“A lot of decisions went against us including what was a legit goal disallowed,” Gitta said.

“I applaud my boys for the performance and character and surely, they deserved something from the game but we move on,” he added.

Gitta made several changes in the team leaving most of his starters on the bench and on this, he claimed that he rested them for their next game against Vipers.

“For us, every player is important and it showed with the performance. Of course we also had the game against Vipers in mind over the weekend.”

This was Wakiso’s fourth loss in their previous five games. The loss left them seventh on the log with 36 points from 26 games played so far.
