KCCA FC’s chances of winning league title this season were halted following a goalless draw with Arua Hill at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Monday evening.

KCCA FC created many chances but fell short in the final third and failed to break the deadlock against a resilient Arua Hill side.

Majwega and Achai were a threat to the visitors early in the game and their crosses where headed wide by Anaku and Aheebwa in the 12th and 14th minute.

Aheebwa should have found the back of the net but failed to connect with a beautiful cross from Achai who had prior beat two men with pace and power, down the left flank on the 28th minute.

Yassar Mugerwa’s shot was saved by Arua Hill’s custodian Anyama, minutes later Iguma headed wide off Achai’s corner kick on 34 minutes.

Arua Hill’s Vuni Bright was cautioned for foul play in the 38th minute.

Anaku headed wide from a beautiful free kick by Achai Herbert at the stroke of halftime.

After recess, teenager Mwanje Elvis was handed his league debut replacing Ashraf Mugume. Davis Kasirye also replaced Yassar Mugerwa.

In the 57th minute, Achai’s cross was blocked by Vuni. Anaku was best placed to head in the ball from a resultant corner kick but his effort flew wide off the upright.

Majwega had the half’s best chance but his effort from distance flew over the frame of the goal on 67 minutes.

With a quarter an hour to play, Charles Lwanga and Mato Rogers replaced Brian Aheebwa and Sadat Anaku respectively.

Mato controlled and picked his spot but riffled his effort into the side net on 84 minutes.

Substitute Lwanga found himself in space, controlled and picked his spot but fired his effort wide with the goal keeper to beat.

The result left KCCA FC second on the log with 46 points while Arua Hill is now fifth with 40 points.
