KCCA FC utility defender Fillbert Obenchan has called onto his teammates to show character against Busia United in the round of 64 of the the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The Kasasiro visit Busia United FC on Sunday 23rd January 2022 at Madibira Grounds, Busia and this will be the first time both sides face off in cup football.

KCCA FC last won the Uganda Cup in Bukedea, 2018 and Obenchan who played in the final against Vipers SC and has got good memories of winning the Uganda Cup.

“Our journey from Kampala to Busia was a good one and we thank God that we reached safe. We have had a light training session this evening and we are ready to fight for the club against Busia United FC tomorrow,” Obenchan said.

“These games are about showing character and that is what counts at the end of the day. We need to show that we want it more than them.”

“We have to be together as a team and bring back the memories of 2018 when we won the Stanbic Uganda Cup and it all starts at this very round of 64,” he added.

Four players will not feature for KCCA FC because they are away on National Duty and these include Benjamin Ochan, Innocent Wafula, Ashraf Mugume and Mato Rogers while Dominic Ayella is away due to school commitments.

Yassar Mugerwa has returned from injury and is set to start his first game for the club in over two months.

Julius Poloto and Sadat Anaku suffered illness in the build up to this game. The pair did not travel with the team to Busia. Peter Magambo is also ruled out.
