Express FC managed to pick a point in a goalless draw away to URA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Saturday afternoon at the Arena of Visions.

The goalless draw had little to write home about but the visitors started well catching the Red Eagles on the break but Denis Otim was always at hand to save the situation.

Charles Musiige had the opportunity to put the visitors in the lead on 12 minutes but failed to connect well with Godfrey Lwesibawa’s long throw-in.

At the opposite end with 10 minutes to half time Denis Otim was called into action with a finger tip save to deny URA FC midfielder Saidi Kyeyune’s freekick from going in and both sides headed into the break all square.

After recess, Murushid Juuko had the first opportunity to give the Red Eagles the lead but his header off a Godfrey Lwesibawa corner kick went agonisingly wide in the 58th minute.

URA FC forward Steven Mukwala was the busiest on the left flank in the latter stages of the game but Murushid Juuko and Issa Lumu’s backline was solid all through to the end.

“We’ve managed a point here in Ndejje, everyone knows this was a huge game so we take the point but also we didn’t create chances and that’s something we’re going to work on when we return to training as we prepare for our next game at home against Gaddafi FC,” Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa said

The Red Eagles now move to 16 points after 10 matchdays played. Next up is Gaddafi FC at the Betway Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.
