STAHIZA and Zana Mixed carry perfect form into USSSA Aggrey Sub-Zone quarter-finals

Following a thrilling conclusion to the group stages, the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Aggrey Sub-Zone Boys’ Football Tournament has advanced to the quarter-final stage, with eight strong contenders still in the race.

The teams that have progressed to the last eight include Zana Mixed Secondary School, Standard High School – Zzana (STAHIZA), Penron High School, Aidan College, Ndejje High School, Khulafa Islamic Secondary School, Happy Times Secondary School, and Agrolink Secondary School.

All quarter-final matches will be staged at St. Charles Catholic Parish in Kibiri, promising a day packed with high-intensity football action.

The opening fixture will see tournament heavyweights STAHIZA take on Khulafa Islamic Secondary School at 9:00 AM.

STAHIZA dominated Group A, collecting a perfect nine points from three matches, including victories over Penron High School, Hamis Islamic Secondary School, and an emphatic 7-0 thrashing of Kibiri Modern Secondary School.

At 10:30 AM, Group B leaders Aidan College will face Happy Times Secondary School.

Aidan impressed during the group phase, winning two matches and registering a goalless draw against Agrolink Secondary School, with both sides finishing level on seven points.

The third quarter-final, scheduled for 12:30 PM, will feature in-form Zana Mixed Secondary School against Group A runners-up Penron High School.

Zana Mixed have arguably been the standout side of the tournament, maintaining a flawless record with four wins in four matches.

They have scored 13 goals while conceding just twice, accumulating a maximum 12 points.

In the final quarter-final clash at 2:00 PM, Group D leaders Ndejje High School will take on Group B runners-up Agrolink Secondary School in what is expected to be a closely contested encounter.

The semi-finals will be played later the same day, with the tournament final scheduled for Friday, 27th March at Africa Bible University (ABU) in Lubowa.

Notably, both STAHIZA and Zana Mixed Secondary School advanced from the group stages with perfect winning records, while Aidan College remain unbeaten despite their draw against Agrolink.

Individually, Derrick Olwenyi of Zana Mixed Secondary School leads the top scorers’ chart with five goals from four matches.

The tournament attracted 17 teams, divided into four groups—three comprising four teams each and one consisting of five teams.

Only three teams will qualify for the Wakiso District/Zone Championship, set to take place in Kawanda Sub-Zone from 8th to 14th April.

With stakes rising and competition tightening, the quarter-finals promise a compelling showcase of school football excellence.
