Greenlight Islamic Secondary School–Nansana delivered a commanding performance to dismantle Standard High School–Zzana (STAHIZA) 4-1 in a one-sided semifinal, securing their place in the final of the Buganda Schools Competition boys’ football tournament for the first time in the school’s history.

The match, however, started on a surprising note as Standard High School Zzana struck early.

Daniel Mugisha put STAHIZA ahead in just the second minute, giving his side a dream start after their impressive quarterfinal victory over St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School.

Despite the early setback, Greenlight Islamic SS quickly regained composure and began to dominate proceedings.

Their attacking pressure paid off as Simon Okwi led the comeback with a superb brace.

Elvis Kimuli and Mark Dandali also got on the scoresheet, completing a strong turnaround that ended in a convincing 4-1 victory for the Nansana-based side.

Earlier in the day at Kawanda Secondary School, last year’s losing finalists Buddo SS produced an equally dominant display in the other semifinal, brushing aside Highway Secondary School Kiganda with a 4-0 triumph.

Baaba Francis opened the scoring for Buddo SS before Ambrose Aboi extended the advantage.

Kusamba Abaasa and Geoffrey Nyonyintono later added their names to the scoresheet to seal the emphatic win.

The two results set up a highly anticipated final between Buddo SS and Greenlight Islamic set for today at Kawanda Secondary School Grounds.
