Relief swept through KCCA FC on Wednesday night as they edged BUL FC 2–1 at the Philip Omondi Stadium, a result that reignited their push up the table.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe proved decisive, heading home in the 31st minute after a well-worked move involving Bwambale Lazaro and Saidi Mayanja.

The forward’s impact did not end there; he was later named Man of the Match for setting the tone in a contest KCCA could not afford to lose.

BUL, however, refused to fold. After Herbert Achai’s vital block denied them earlier, they struck back before halftime to level matters at 1–1, unsettling the hosts and shifting momentum.

KCCA responded swiftly after the restart. Just three minutes into the second half, Achai turned from defender to scorer, converting Ashraf Mugume’s assist to restore the lead. The goal ultimately separated the sides.

Chances came and went in a tense finale, with Lazaro striking the post and BUL pressing late on.

Bookings and injury interruptions added to the drama, but KCCA held firm.

The victory moves KCCA fourth on 33 points, while BUL stay eighth on 20, as attention turns to their upcoming fixtures.
