The Uganda Premier League’s first round concluded last week, but Vipers SC and Kitara FC remain uncertain about their unplayed fixture, sparking controversy and damaging the sport’s image.

FUFA President Moses Magogo has described the situation as a “judicial matter”, stating, “Kitara vs Vipers has become a judicial matter, and the judicial body will decide. But I have told them, this case is damaging our image”.

The controversy stems from Vipers’ no-show for the October 4, 2025, match against Kitara FC, citing protest over the now-suspended new league format.

Kitara FC had arrived at the empty Namboole Stadium, ready to play.

Vipers’ management has requested a rescheduling, but reports suggest they may face forfeiture and a three-point deduction.

The Venoms currently top the table with 36 points, while Kitara FC sits fifth with 29 points.
