Former Uganda Cranes forward Joel Madondo has inked a two-year contract with South Africa’s Richards Bay Football Club, committing him to the club until 2028.

Madondo, a former Eswatini champions Nsingizini Hotspurs player, impressed during his trial stint, earning him a spot on the team.

He joins fellow Ugandan, the Uganda Cranes custodian Omar Salim Jamal Magoola, who has been with Richards Bay FC since 2022.

Madondo’s football prowess is well-documented, having played for notable teams like BUL FC, Busoga United,  Diamond Trust Bank in Tanzania and Army FC.

He was instrumental in Uganda’s 2019 CECAFA Championship win, earning four caps with the Uganda Cranes.

His impressive skills were also showcased during the 2017 Copa Coca-Cola tournament, where his side, Jinja SS, emerged victorious in Masaka.
