Despite dominating possession, Express FC lacked a finishing touch to trouble SC Villa’s goalkeeper David Lukwago, who made crucial saves to preserve his team’s lead.

The Red Eagles’ attempts to respond were th thwarted by Villa’s well-organized defense, which remained disciplined and mature to see out the result.

The defeat leaves Express FC 11th with 12 points, exacerbating concerns among their fans, while SC Villa climb to third on 26 points, level with KCCA FC who sit second,  a point behindleadersVipersSC.

Express FC’s next challenge is hosting Buhimba United Saints on January 23, while SC Villa face a tough away trip to BUL FC a day earlier.

The match was a testament to SC Villa’s tactical prowess, as they exploited Express FC’s weaknesses and capitalized on their own chances.

As the Uganda Premier League takes a brief break, Express FC will be looking to regroup and address their shortcomings before resuming action.
