In a tightly contested Uganda Premier League clash at Police Arena, Kira, on Thursday evening, Kitara edged past Police 2‑1.

Patrick Kaddu gave the visitors an early advantage, slotting the ball home from the 12‑yard spot in the 10th minute.

The Royals threatened to double their lead just before halftime when Jimmy Kalema’s effort was denied by Police goalkeeper Edward Kasibante.

Lawrence Tezikya levelled the match with a beautiful header off Daniel Jakony’s free‑kick in the 63rd minute, sending the stadium into a frenzy.

In the dying moments of added time, Isaac Atuhairwe struck the decisive goal, guiding the ball into the net and securing Kitara’s sweet victory.

The win lifts Kitara to fourth place with 13 points from seven games, while Police remain third with 14 points after eight matches.
