URA FC finally broke their duck, securing their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory over UPDF FC at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Thursday night.

The tax collectors had endured a tough start to the season, with four consecutive draws in their opening four games.

Moses Aliro Okabo’s brace and George Masembe’s goal powered URA to victory.

Aliro gave the home side the lead in the 24th minute, courtesy of Joseph Ssemunjju’s assist.

However, UPDF FC quickly responded, with Andrew Samson Kigozi equalizing two minutes later.

Before halftime, Masembe restored URA’s lead with a well-taken goal following a long throw from Justin Opiro.

The hosts seemed set for a comfortable win, but UPDF FC fought back in the final minutes.

Ssekamatte’s penalty kick in the second half leveled the score at 2-2.

URA FC were awarded a penalty in the 76th minute, which Aliro converted with precision, securing a crucial win for the tax collectors.

This victory brings URA FC to seven points, while UPDF FC remain on three points.

The win marks a significant turnaround for URA FC, who had gone 450 minutes without a league win.

With this victory, they end their winless streak and position themselves for a potential push up the league table.
