SC Villa snatched a dramatic 2-1 win over Police FC in a Uganda Premier League match played at the FUFA Kadiba Stadium .

Charles Lwanga’s stoppage-time goal sealed the victory for the Jogoos, who had trailed early in the match.

Police FC took the lead in the 22nd minute with Congolese forward Bedia Djuma Ikambi scoring a clinical header from Denis Kalanzi’s precise cross.

SC Villa struggled to find their footing in the first half, with Police goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga making a crucial save to deny Ibrahim Kasinde.

The second half saw a transformed SC Villa, with substitutes Lwanga and Geoffrey Gagganga injecting new life into the team.

Their introduction paid off in the 70th minute when Gagganga scored the equalizer, capitalizing on Muwanga’s momentary lapse in concentration.

The goalkeeper’s attempt to clear the ball left his goal exposed, allowing Gagganga to slot the ball home.

As the match entered its final minutes, SC Villa continued to press for a winner.

Their persistence was rewarded in stoppage time when Lwanga pounced on a defensive error by Richard Matovu, coolly dinking the ball over Muwanga’s outstretched body to seal a thrilling 2-1 victory.

The win propels SC Villa to eighth place with four points, while Police FC remain fifth with five points.

Lwanga’s match-winning performance earned him the Man of the Match award, while Gagganga’s goal and assist showcased his impact off the bench.
