The muted atmosphere at Kadiba Stadium yesterday night reflected the growing discontent among supporters protesting the new format.

The usually vibrant Joggos faithful were conspicuously absent, with only a small section of die-hard fans defying the boycott.

Sports Club Villa’s search for their first win of the season continued unabated as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Entebbe UPPC at the empty Kadiba Stadium.

The match was overshadowed by the ongoing fan protest against the new league format, with many Villa supporters choosing to stay away.

The club management acknowledged the absence of fans and urged unity moving forward, promising continued dialogue with league organizers.

The draw gave Villa their first point of the campaign, but frustration remains over missed opportunities.

Entebbe UPPC took the lead through Fazil Tumwine’s 28th-minute strike, but Villa equalized in the 83rd minute courtesy of Andrew Atim’s close-range finish.

Despite dominating possession in the late stages, Villa couldn’t find the winner, with Charles Lwanga’s added-time effort brilliantly saved by the Entebbe goalkeeper.

For Entebbe UPPC, the result means four points from their first three games, following an earlier win over Lugazi.

Their defensive discipline and composure under pressure continue to earn them respect in the topflight.
