The Finance Trust Women Super League 2025/26 season is set to ignite with a thrilling encounter between Kawempe Muslim Ladies and defending champions Kampala Queens FC.

The Valley Warriors will host the champions at the deadly iconic Valley Ground on Friday at 4:00 pm, in a match that promises to be an electrifying spectacle.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies have enriched their squad with notable characters, boasting proven scorers like Latifah Nakasi from Uganda Martyrs WFC joining Agnes Nabukenya, as well as the tricky Jovia Nakagolo in the attack.

Kawempe Muslim also realized the return of experienced versatile Asia Nakibuka (from Kampala Queens) adds spice to the fixture, while creativity will flow through Hadija Babirye and Kruthum Namutebi.

Coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi is expected to pull tactical surprises, but the Valley Warriors will miss their injured captain Shakirah Nyinagahirwa.

The champions arrive under Ethiopian tactician Asefa Firew Hailegabreal, who guided them to glory in his debut season.

With fresh signings bring promise to Kampala Queens, the big test will be replacing the Zaina Nandede (last season’s car winner) and midfielder Shamirah Nalugya who both left the club for greener pasture.

A Rivalry Renewed
The fixture rarely disappoints, with Kawempe holding the edge with five wins in the last eight meetings. However, Kampala Queens have won by high-scoring margins in the past, including a 4-1 thrashing at the Valley Ground.

With a packed Valley Ground expected to roar with passionate fans, and Kampala Queens determined to prove their resilience, the opener could swing either way.

It’s a battle of hunger versus pedigree, youth versus experience, and passion versus champions’ pride.
