Ali Kayongo gave SC Villa an early lead with a penalty, but Umaru Bulega responded with a hat-trick to turn the game around.

Owen Kasule scored a brace, and Vicent Kayizi and Titi Kajiri each added a goal to KCCA’s tally.

Vicent Kayizi, who had a remarkable game, directly contributing to six goals, expressed his gratitude to the event organizers.

“I’m happy for being part of this initiative.

We have more two outings for togetherness to decide the winner.

This is the strongest sense of unity of former players, and I think it will keep the bond and good networking amongst us,” Kayizi said.

He also appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with longtime friends and former opponents.

The four participating teams, including USPA as a guest team, will compete in a three-phase round-robin league to determine the winner.

Each team will play at least three matches, with the champion set to win UGX 4,000,000.

The second and third-placed teams will receive UGX 3,000,000 and UGX 2,000,000, respectively, while the fourth-placed team will take home UGX 1,000,000.

The winning team will also receive gold medals, while the second and third-placed teams will be awarded silver and bronze medals.

Farouk Meywa emphasized the purpose of the VEK Legends football gala: “To celebrate football history, reconnect, share memories, and inspire the upcoming young football generation.”

The event aims to foster unity and camaraderie among former players while promoting the sport’s rich history.
