With emotions running high and permutations aplenty, June 21, 2025, will deliver a dramatic finale to one of the most competitive FUFA Big League seasons in recent memory.

The FUFA Big League delivered a thrilling set of results on Sunday, June 15, 2025, setting the stage for a nail-biting conclusion to the season.

With no team yet guaranteed a spot in the top flight and three relegation places still to be decided, the final matchday on June 21, 2025, promises to be a defining moment in Ugandan football.

Dramatic Results

The weekend matches produced drama and surprises, with Kigezi HomeBoyz pulling off a stunning 4-3 victory over promotion hopefuls Buhimba United in a seven-goal thriller.

Buhimba’s late collapse handed Kigezi a lifeline in their relegation battle while denting the hosts’ hopes of securing a top-three finish.

In other matches, Onduparaka and Calvary played out a tense 0-0 draw, with both sides failing to capitalize on chances to strengthen their promotion bids.

Gaddafi and Blacks Power also ended goalless, keeping their positions in the top five but leaving the door open for rivals.

Paidha Black Angels reignited their promotion push with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Kiyinda Boys, while Ntugasaze edged Kataka 1-0 to stay in the mid-table conversation.

The standout result came from Busoga United, who demolished relegated Booma 7-0, boosting their goal difference and keeping their survival hopes alive.

Promotion and Relegation Battles

The promotion race remains razor-tight, with just three points separating the top five teams.

Buhimba United and Calvary lead the pack with 49 points each, but neither could secure maximum points over the weekend, leaving their fates uncertain.

Gaddafi, with 47 points, hold third place but face pressure after their draw with Blacks Power.

In the relegation zone, the battle to avoid joining already-doomed Booma United in the regional leagues is equally intense.

MYDA, sitting on 32 points, are in the strongest position but remain vulnerable after a challenging season.

Kaaro Karungi (31 points) and Kigezi HomeBoyz (30 points) are teetering on the edge, with Kigezi’s upset over Buhimba offering a glimmer of hope.

Final Matchday Fixtures

The final matchday on June 21, 2025, will see all teams kick off at 4:00 PM, with every result carrying massive implications.

Key fixtures include:

– Blacks Power hosting Busoga United, a clash pitting promotion aspirations against survival instincts.

– Calvary facing Paidha Black Angels in a direct promotion showdown, where a single goal could decide their fates.

– Gaddafi traveling to Kataka, needing a win to secure their top-three hopes.

– Kigezi HomeBoyz’s match against MYDA, a must-win for both sides.

As the FUFA Big League heads into its final day, the stakes could not be higher.

For Buhimba United, Calvary, Gaddafi, Blacks Power, and Paidha Black Angels, the dream of Premier League football hangs in the balance.

At the bottom, MYDA, Kaaro Karungi, Kigezi HomeBoyz, Busoga United, and Arua Hill SC are locked in a desperate struggle to avoid relegation.

Fans across Uganda will be glued to their radios and screens as the promotion and relegation battles reach their climax.
