Express FC welcomes SC Villa to Nakivubo Stadium this evening at 7 pm in a highly anticipated matchup, reigniting the oldest football rivalry in Uganda.

As the Startimes Uganda Premier League enters match day eight, only two points separate the two teams.

SC Villa sits sixth with 11 points, while Express FC occupies eighth place with 9 points.

In their previous outings, Express FC shared points with Wakiso Giants FC in a goalless draw, while SC Villa thrashed UPDF FC 5-0 at Wankulukuku.

Historically, SC Villa holds the edge, winning 13 of the last 24 meetings, with Express FC securing 6 victories and 5 draws.

SC Villa’s reigning champions will rely on Patrick Kakande, Hakim Kiwanuka, and Charles Lwanga, who netted four goals in their last game, to spearhead their attack.

Express FC’s Sam Ssenyonjo, Richard Bassangwa, and Goffrey Gaganga are expected to lead the charge for goals.

A victory for any of the two, will propel them to the fourth position.

Elvis Ngonde’s availability is uncertain due to injury, but the rest of the squad is fit for selection.

Express FC welcomes back John Assiimwe, while Isa Lumu and Ronald Andabati remain sidelined due to injuries.
