Enock Ssebagala and Gaddafi Wahab were on target as NEC FC beat home side Kitara FC 2-1 to consolidate the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table summit.

The epic tie was held this Thursday evening, the 19th September at Butema Stadium in Hoima.

Enock Ssebagala scored in the 50th  minute with a powerful strike shortly past half of the field that Kitara goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima could not keep out to send visitors NEC into a 1-0 lead.

However, celebrations were short lived as Kitara through Living Kabon responded with an equalizer when he converted a penalty after Denis Omedi was fouled by Geriga Atendele.

NEC regained their lead in the 80th minute through substitute Gaddafi Wahab to seal NEC FC’s victory.

NEC now sits on six points from two games, having won their opener 3-1 against Vipers.

Kitara remain on three points following their 3-0 win over Lugazi in their season opener at Lugazi stadium in Mabira forest.

The game was brought to a standstill leading to Paul Mucureezi being rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness.

Mucureezi who was playing against his former pay masters for the first time since his departure from the Royals last season collided with Kitara captain Max Owachgiu in an aerial challenge and suffered a bad fall.

Mucureezi was then rushed to the hospital in an ambulance for medical attention. He was replaced by James Jarieko for the game to continue.
