Pepsi University Football League 2024/25

Venue: Tear Gas Arena – Makerere University

Full Time : Makerere 1-0 Victoria

On a wet and cold Thursday evening, the 19th September, Makerere University registered a slim 1-0 win over a Noah Mugerwa coached Victoria University.

Muteganga Frank scored the only goal of the game as the inaugural champions of the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) Makerere University got their 2024/25 campaign off to a perfect start.

Muteganga’s goal came in the 17th minute when he headed in Herbert Wasswa’s free kick to hand Makerere a slim 1-0 win over Victoria University.

The hosts were the best team throughout the game but could not add more goals from a number of chances created.

Victory took Kasozi Williams’ charges straight top of the pile of Group B with three points while Victoria are pointless with Ndejje University and Kumi University who are yet to play their first fixtures.

As it was a norm last season, Makerere University goal scorer Mutekanga smiled home with UGX. 100,000 courtesy of former student JB of JB motors, an entity dealing in car sales.

The UFL will continue tomorrow with Group D tie between two-time champions  Kampala University (KU) and Kampala International University (KIU) in Kibuli at 3pm.
