FT: UCU 1–1 St. Lawrence

The 2024/25 season of the Pepsi University Football League kicked off with a 1-1 draw today Tuesday between Uganda Christian University and St. Lawrence University at the UCU football grounds in Mukono.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 30th minute from a well taken free kick by Abiti Harry but three minutes later, Ziraba Ronnie equalized for the visitors in the 33rd minute.

The two teams kept on pressing for a way through thereafter but lacked the cutting edge despite creating a couple of chances.

A draw ensured that St. Lawrence remain winless against UCU given that the latter defeated the former to win their only league title in 2019.

They are tied on one point each in Group C which also has Kabale University and YMCA.

Action in the Pepsi University Football League resumes this Thursday 19th September with a Group B fixture between inaugural winners Makerere University and Victoria University at the Makerere University playgrounds.
