Makerere vs Victoria

Thursday 19th February

3pm, Makerere

This Thursday Victoria University will have to collect their stones as they take aim at the Enzymes of  Makerere.

This will be the second game of the 2024/25 Pepsi University Football League season.

It’s a tall task for any team that visits the Makerere grounds but the challenge may be just what Victoria needs to get their season up and running and gain confidence.

In the last two editions Victoria University has lost both of its opening games losing 2-0 to UCU and 1-0 to IUIU respectively but coach Emmanuel Amagu claims they will beat the odds this time round.

“It’s a big one coming up,” said Emmanuel.

“I am sure of the quality of players I have and I remain hopeful we will give this season a good start”.

William Kasozi is back in charge of the Enzymes, he knows the team and what it wants to stand for so it will be a little difficult to break they down as it’s hard to break down his teams.

“We have to take each game at a time and Makerere is the first game of our stretch, and we need to win”. Added Amagu

However William Kasozi the Makerere University head coach, says the team is picking up and is extremely ready for the season and the first obstacle they encounter is a rejuvenated Victoria University side.

“We want to start with a bang”, Said kasozi

“We need to win the opening game to rally our fans behind us through out the group stages and I personally have unfinished business here so my second stunt should be extremely different.

But we need to be very cautious because Victoria is a very ambitious team. A win in the first game is very crucial for us”.  Added Ka
