Solid start for Mbogo Mixed, Kibuli SS, immaculate Hearts at USSSA Ball Games II championship

Following the tipoff of the 3X3 basketball championship at the ongoing Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games II, Mbogo Mixed Secondary School started with a convincing win against Mengo SS.

The Wakiso Region third ranked side won 08-02 against the traditional Mengo SS in their opener.

This becomes Mbogo Mixed’s debut National championship in 3X3 girls basketball.

Isma Bazanye, the head coach of Mbogo Mixed lauded his girls for the great performance in the opener.

“It was a great game. Yes, we won and I’m proud of the girls’ performance.

They met our expectations in this game. It being the first game in our debut National championship, it determines a lot on how the team will look.

We focus on winning more games ahead if we are to last a bit longer in the tournament”. Bazanye.

In the other girls games of the day, Immaculate Hearts beat the Gulu based St. Katherine SS 12-05 in their opener.

Meanwhile, Kampala region side Kibuli SS powered past Ndejje SS in a 13-07 victory.

In the boys category, St. Maria Goretti Katende lost 08-14 against Kitabi Seminary.

Seroma Christian High School beat St. Marks College Namagoma 14-06 while Kibuli SS registered a landslide 21-01 score over Otino-WAA Children’s Village.

Meanwhile, due to bad weather, the game between Nyakasura School and Kigezi High School was aborted and pushed to today morning.
